Bomb Threat At Harrisburg International Airport Forced Emergency Evacuation

A bomb threat at Harrisburg International Airport caused it to suddenly shutdown on Thursday, June 23, authorities say.

The threat had been called into HIA, but no exact time was released by airport officials.

"Law enforcement evacuated the terminal as a precaution," officials stated in a release.

For several hours arriving planes were being held on ramps and flights were grounded on the tarmac. 

Law enforcement searched the building and nothing unusual was found, authorities say.

Normal operations resumed around 1 a.m. when law enforcement officials gave the all clear.
